Ballinger ISD Virtual Application

Dear Bearcat Parents and Guardians,

I hope this letter finds you and your family staying safe and healthy. The purpose of this letter is to communicate the future of virtual learning at Ballinger ISD. I appreciate your efforts and support in teaming up with us in providing the best education possible for your child. Whether you have chosen to educate your child by sending them to school for face-to-face learning, or you have chosen to educate your child virtually, we appreciate your dedication. Our district staff members have had that same tremendous commitment and dedication to providing the best education possible to students who attend school in person or virtually. We feel that the vast majority of our in person learners are improving academically. However, we are seeing that a large majority of our virtual learners are not being successful academically. Ballinger ISD staff members have worked tirelessly in trying to stay in contact with virtual learners and their parents and guardians to both check on the students’ well-being as well as trying to help them to improve academically.
As a result of a large majority of our virtual students not being successful academically, Ballinger ISD has chosen to end virtual learning beginning January 5, 2021 except for students with extenuating circumstances. Our district’s face-to-face protocols follow the State guidelines and provide a safe environment for students to come to school in person. Since the beginning of school, we have worked closely with our local Health Authority to identify those who are exposed to COVID-19 positive individuals. Ballinger ISD COVID-19 protocols and procedures can be found on the school website at
If a parent or guardian would like their student to attend school virtually, they must fill out a Ballinger ISD Virtual online application. The application must be submitted online by midnight on November 29, 2020. This application can be found online at HERE. If virtual instruction is chosen, the parent or guardian of the student will be contacted by a campus representative to discuss the application once it is received by the school district.
Students who are required to quarantine will be allowed to go to school virtually during the time that is required for them to be away from school.
Ballinger ISD believes in keeping our students and staff safe while providing the best education possible. As always, we are dedicated to working with our parents and guardians to meet the needs of all of our students. This is especially true during this difficult time of dealing with COVID-19. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your student’s campus principal.
Thank you for your patience, support, and cooperation.
